Ingle-Nook was created within the hearth of a small workshop in Spitalfields. A space filled with creations and curiosities showcasing the remnants and relics of a master craftsman.
INGLE-NOOK-ARTS is a community interest side to Ingle-Nook offering educational and arts-related Workshops, Events and Exhibitions.
Simon Ings
Simon Ings is a sculptor and stone carver with over 30 years’ experience specialising in the restoration of antiques and artefacts, with a reputation as being a maker of many fine objects and things of beauty.
“I approach every project with the same sensibility, whether it is carving wax to cast an ingot of silver and gold, restoring a wooden boat, building a traditional shepherd’s hut, working on an antique fireplace or sculpting in clay or stone.”
Trained in Weymouth, Dorset followed by a BA in Fine Sculpture at City & Guilds London Art School. Simon has worked on many projects in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and USA.
“I have a deep understanding of the ways of working in stone, from traditional to abstract, which are also explored through my works in plaster, wood, ash, wax, silver and gold.”
